On September 5, 2014 the world tragically lost an immense talent. Ryan's light burned out far too soon leaving the world a much quieter, less colorful place. To channel our grief into a cause he would have supported, we created the Ryan Rorie Foundation. The purpose of the Ryan Rorie Foundation is to assist in funding LGBT youth creative art centers and classes with existing and established LGBT centers. Our aim is to help LGBT youth experience creativity through the use of visual and performing art.
Ryan was a multi-talented artist. One of his first words was "music". He was a musician, vocalist, photographer, videographer, painter, actor and performer. At the end of his life, Ryan had made a name for himself as a well-known and respected Los Angeles-based drag performer by the stage name KILLER. Through his artistic expression, he left behind many things we are still blessed to be able to see, hear and touch. All of these things say "Ryan was here" and are treasures that mean the world to us. Ryan lived and breathed art so it is only fitting that we honor his memory and keep his legacy alive by giving LGBT youth the opportunity to nurture their artistic creativity. We want to give them the chance to leave their marks on this world just as Ryan did.
